Location
CELT is located in two adjacent Victorian buildings in the centre of Cardiff. We are within walking distance of Cardiff University, the main shopping area in the city, and many local amenities. The school offers a comfortable and relaxed learning environment which allows students to feel at home.

CELT also uses classrooms in Cardiff University Union during the summer for
its teenage students. The centre has convenient on-site facilities such as a TV
room, cafeteria, general shop, and bookshop. It is located in Park Place which
is close to the centre and within a few minutes' walk of our school.
General English Course
- Standard course - 16 hours per week
- Intensive course - 22 hours per week
Classes - average 7/8 students per class (max. 12)
Levels available: Elementary to Advanced (no classes for Beginners)
Students can start any Monday (min. study period is 2 weeks)
Designed for adult students (18+) - course focuses on 4 main
skill areas, i.e. reading, writing, listening, & speaking in addition to
grammar and vocabulary work.

IELTS Passport
Combination programme of 16 hours per week of General English in
and 6 hours per week of IELTS preparation
Small classes - average 7/8 students per class (max. 12)
Levels available: Intermediate to Advanced (please note that this course is
not suitable for students below intermediate level
Students can start any Monday (min. study period is 4 weeks)
Course designed to enable students to prepare for the IELTS exam which
most British Universities use as an entry requirement for foreign students
to join their courses
We can arrange for students to take the IELTS exam in Cardiff or other
local centre in the UK.
Holiday Language Course (Teenagers & Adults)
15 hours’ tuition per week in multi-cultural classes
Levels available: Elementary to Advanced (no classes for Beginners)
Social programme in the afternoons and some evenings
1 full-day excursion every Saturday
1 half-day excursion per week
Sport, bowling, ice-skating, cinema visits, discos, etc.
Designed for both teenagers (minimum age 13) and adults who have already
started to learn English and want to improve their command of the language
General & Business English Course
Combination programme of 16 hours per week of General English in small
classes and choice of between 6 and 10 hours of Business English per week on a
one-to-one basis
Small classes - average 7/8 students per class (max. 12)
Levels available: Pre-Intermediate to Advanced
Flexible programme – students can choose which areas they would like to focus
on during the afternoon programme
Students can start any Monday (min. study period is 2 weeks)
Minimum age is 18+
One-to-One
For students requiring a personalise programme of study
Number of hours’ tuition per week and course length are based on students’
requirements – minimum 3 hours per week
Minimum study period is 1 week
Flexible programme – students can choose which areas they would like to
improve (professional and/or linguistic)
