We understand that living in a new city can be scary, so we asked two of our sponsored students, Hassan and Faris from Saudi Arabia, for their top tips on how to make the most of studying English in a new city! Here’s what they said:

  1. Get a Cardiff Bus pass

You can save a lot of money by using a Cardiff Bus Week to Go for under £15! This allows unlimited access to all Cardiff Buses in the city, so you can travel from your accommodation to school and anywhere else in the city easily. Click here to see a map of all the bus routes in Cardiff.

  1. Go to City Road

Just under a 10-minute walk from our Adult Centre is City Road, which has been named the ‘most culturally mixed place in Cardiff’. Our students told us that you can find great authentic food there! This article by WalesOnline explains how you can eat food from around the world on City Road.

  1. Live with a Host family

Living with a host family is a great way to help you to develop your English speaking skills as well as experience British culture. Our host families are carefully selected as we understand the importance of making you feel at home whilst you study at CELT.
