From July to August each year, CELT‘s ‘Holiday Language Course’ helps to develop the skills of our young learners from across the globe.
-
- Exploring Swansea; Wales’ second city. Our students enjoyed visiting the city centre and beautiful coastlines, including breathtaking Bracelet Bay. The trip included visits to Swansea Museum (Wales’ oldest museum), The National Waterfront Museum (for lovers of all things maritime) and the exciting new bridge and architecture being built around Bae Copr/Copr Bay!
- Pew, pew, pew! Our students loved running around playing Laser Quest and Bowling in the city centre. Strike!
- Love it or Hate it: The Marmite Challenge! Our students tasted the famous British spread and voted with their taste buds. Find out the verdict here!
- D-I-S-C-O! Our students enjoyed strutting their stuff on the dancefloor at the CELT Disco, experiencing songs from all around the world, in different languages.
- To celebrate the 2024 Olympic Games, our students took part in weekly sporting activities at a local leisure centre and in the lush surroundings of Bute Park in the city centre. They also enjoyed a visit to the heart of team sports in Wales, the Principality Stadium.
- Our Saturday trips gave the students a chance to explore places in Wales that deserve more time, as well the opportunity to cross the border into England. Our Young Learners enjoyed discovering the beautiful town of Bath, sampling the scones, the Georgian architecture and the Roman foundations.
Student Testimonials
What our students said about our course this year:
‘It was a great experience to join the school.’ Hanna, Poland
It’s always reassuring when students wish to return here to do another course. Tommy, an Italian student who was part of our ‘Holiday Language Course’ this summer for young learners, has since confirmed his intention to return here:
‘I will [certainly] do so.’ Tommy, Italy
